MUST HAVE JACKETS + COATS FOR WINTER 2020
I love fall and winter. Perhaps it is because I hate shorts or find the mere mention of anything pumpkin flavored to be completely repulsive. But likely it is that I LOVE LAYERS.
So many people lament the end of the warm days of summer; I look forward to cooler weather. Not cold weather, cooler weather. I am not a sportsy person (pretty sure you figured that out with the use of the word “sportsy”), but my favorite weather can universally be understood as “football weather” requiring jeans, a long skirt, or jeans, with a lightweight to midweight jacket.
Topper coats are a necessity whether you wear them solo or as a layering piece in winter. Plus, get a leg-up on your Spring 2020 wardrobe with these three-season jackets and coats. Most are also easy to carry around, you can simply roll them up and toss them in your carryall (may we suggest our bestselling Camo Tote?)
Here are some of our top picks for fall and winter jackets and coats.
DRESSED UP DENIM
Denim jackets have always been in style but this season they are really elevated with multiple washes, adornments such as rivets or fringe, and with comfy linings. This chic style will be great in fall 2019 and spring 2020.
Just as comfy as your middle-school performance fleece, these newbies are updated with new angles, clasps. and lengths making them blankety-soft and super hip.
FAUX FUR + FUR
While we offer both natural and vegan fur options here at HOYDEN, we are particularly thrilled to see the continued interest in faux fur fashion. Offered in nearly every color of the rainbow the furs of this season. Whether it be a full-length coat or vest, the fur look is here to stay.
Seriously, put down the pea coat. These cadet style army coats will really make you stand at attention. Combine it with a graphic tee and your favorite pair of jeans and you will be hip AF.
TWEED + PLAID
Tweed and plaid take center stage this year with renewed interest in strong feminine designs including bold shoulders, belts, and bold patterning. We never shy away from an opportunity to stand out.
QUILTED PUFFER COATS
When the weather turns cooler you will need a great puffer coat. This season many designers have experimented with techniques traditionally reserved for upholstery including quilting. Add a great quilted jacket, particularly one with varying techniques applied, and you'll be warm and on-trend.
